...off to Munich!

A few weeks ago, I began a design challenge to create a set of coffee mugs. The mugs are for an "e-friend" in Munich who liked a set of smaller cups that are part of a punch bowl set.

After much thought -- I decided on a simple design that incorporated a love of coffee (12 oz size) and minimalism. Here is what I came up with. Each mug will hold 12 oz of a favoriet brew. The handle is made for a forefinger or thumb and allows the holder to easily carry a steaming cup of coffee as well as tip it back as needed.

I glazed the mugs in a soft satin alabaster on the outside and a subtle light toast on the inside. Very minimal and simple, yet interesting in terms of design. I was happy with the results.
